The following AAQS awards were made during the AAQS General Assembly held in Kampala, Uganda in 2017:

Merit Award for service to the quantity surveying profession – Mr Michael Frimpong

The award is made in acknowledgment of distinguished service to the quantity surveying profession over many years as a Council Member and a past president of the AAQS

Merit Award for service to the quantity surveying profession – Mr Segun Ajanlekoko

The award is made in acknowledgment of distinguished service to the quantity surveying profession over many years as a Council Member and a past president of the AAQS

Merit Award for service to the quantity surveying profession – Mr Dan Kimoro

The award is made in acknowledgment of distinguished service to the quantity surveying profession over many years as a Council Member and a past president of the AAQS

Merit Award for service to the quantity surveying profession – Prof Rob Pearl

The award is made in acknowledgement of distinguished service to the quantity surveying profession over many years as a Council Member and a past president of the AAQS. For a period of more than a year during Prof Pearl’s term as president of the AAQS, the AAQS secretariat was not manned and he, with great personal sacrifice, performed many of the duties of the secretariat

The following AAQS awards were made during the AAQS General Assembly held in Pretoria, South Africa in 2014:

Merit award - Mr Charles Israelite
In recognition of his contribution as founder and chairperson of the Professional Consultants Services Agreement Committee (PROCSA) since inception in 2002. The PROCSA client/consultant suite of agreements was involved to deal with the contractual arrangements of all the core professional disciplines in the built environment and is widely accepted in Africa by both clients and consultants

Merit award - Dr Corné de Leeuw
The award is in recognition of his tireless efforts, devoted and dedicated service to the AAQS for almost the entire existence of the association

The following AAQS awards were made during the AAQS General Assembly held in Accra, Ghana in 2008:

Posthumous merit award - Late Mr Francis Githaiga
The late Mr Githaiga had been identified as deserving the AAQS Award for his role in championing the cause of AAQS selflessly and diligently during his lifetime when serving as Secretary General of the AAQS

Merit award - Dr Corné de Leeuw
Dr De Leeuw had been identified as one of those deserving the AAQS Award for his distinguished, selfless and sterling contributions to the growth of the AAQS

Merit award- Mr Mike Applewhite
Mr Applewhite, representing the quantity surveying program WinQS, had been identified for deserving the AAQS Award for corporate sponsorship of the AAQS website and conferences

Merit award - Prof Piet Botha
Prof Botha had been identified as one of those deserving the AAQS Award for his distinguished, selfless and sterling contributions to the growth of the AAQS

Merit award - President J A Kufuor
The Africa Association of Quantity Surveyors honoured President J A Kufuor, the President of the Republic of Ghana for his sterling contributions to the development of Africa and his impressive record of governance

Merit award - Mr Nelson Mandela
The Africa Association of Quantity Surveyors honoured former President of South Africa, Mr Nelson Mandela for his sterling contributions to the development of Africa and his impressive record of governance
