The Standard Method of Measuring Building Work for Africa 2015 (first edition) is available for downloading on this website

The Association of South African Quantity Surveyors agreed to make available its Model Bills of Quantities (abbreviated descriptions) as the base document for an updated version for use in conjunction with the Standard Method of Measuring Building Work for Africa. A working group comprising of Prof H M Siglé, Mr R de Villiers and Prof C H Klopper, funded by the AAQS, was appointed to undertake the task of updating the model bills

The AAQS Services and Model Documentation board sees the publication of the above mentioned two documents as a major step in standardizing procurement documentation in Africa and improving the quality of such documentation
